ROCKETSOCKET is manufactured by Hudson Bearings. Founded in 1969, Hudson Bearings is committed to manufacturing premium quality, American-made products designed with purpose and crafted with pride. In addition to ROCKETSOCKET, Hudson Bearings produces high-tolerance ball transfers and ball casters, which are used in a diverse range of industries and sectors, including air cargo, conveyor and material handling, and retail displays. Founder’s Story
Since the birth of manufacturing, production lines have been plagued by a single, everyday problem: rounded-off, or stripped bolts and screws. When their customers struggled with the very same issue, tool and die makers Jim and George Hamman invented ROCKETSOCKET, a hard-working, do-it-all extractor for damaged fasteners. The brothers quickly discovered that the innovative helical threading of ROCKETSOCKET could not be manufactured on pre-existing technology. An advanced and specialized machine would be required.
So, they invented that, too. The ROCKETSOCKET Machine, an augmented milling device, was created and specially programmed in 1978 to crank out ROCKETSOCKET extractors using premium, American-drawn steel. The ROCKETSOCKET soon became a toolbox staple, and the rest is history.
Even when faced with the most stubborn, rusted, unbudgeable fasteners, ROCKETSOCKET won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Today, we’re proud to offer our product in a variety of sizes to professionals and hobbyists, worldwide, who share Jim’s and George’s spirit of determination.
